The five open-chord shapes that, linked together, cover the whole neck with the same major chord.

The CAGED system takes the open-chord shapes of C, A, G, E and D and moves them up the neck. Linked in that order, they cover all twelve frets with one chord. The sheet shows the five shapes of C, each note marked with its shape letter, and the fret range of each one.
